About Me....
I am not a stranger to Conn. I have been at Conn for 10 years. I completed both my field experiences and student teaching in Kindergarten here at Conn. After completing student teaching I became a teacher assistant. This will be my eighth school year teaching in Kindergarten! I am originally from Wilmington, Delaware. I moved to North Carolina to attend college. I graduated from Saint Augustine’s University with a degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation I made North Carolina my home. I attended North Carolina Central University where I obtained a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I look forward to meeting with all the families at some point this school-year.
Now, let's get to the fun stuff about me. I have a beautiful brown Pitador (pitbull/lab mix). She is my baby, her name is Fergie and she is 6 years old. I love walking and snuggling with her during my down time. On the weekends you can find me being active. I love trying new things and going different places. I love to smile and I might be a bit of a jokester. I love to laugh and I like having FUN! I love shopping. Hmmmm... I love all things monogrammed, my collection of things with "A" on it is getting out of control! Last but not least, I like my football. I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan. (Stop laughing, no they haven't won a superbowl since...never-mind) That's a little about me.
We are in this kindergarten journey together. If you have questions or concerns you have to let me know. Email, Email, Email! Did I say email...? Email is the BEST way to reach me. My email address is [email protected] (don't forget the "2" when emailing). You can also write a note or leave a phone message for me with Mrs. Jones in the office.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. My goal as an educator is to create a productive member of society. My desire is to help students become confident learners and independent thinkers. My hope is that students will develop pride in their education and learning. Every child has the ability to learn despite societal "disadvantages", physical/mental disabilities, race, color, religion, and gender.
